Calling all activists! Recently, there has been discussion and outrage over the number of teachers and other employees that schools across our state are being laid off due to deficits. One recurrent theme that has appeared during these lay offs is the cost of health care.
Please write a letter to the editor of your local newspapers and tell them that these lay offs are not necessary! Under a single payer plan, these school districts could save enough money to keep these teachers working and helping to educate our youth!
If there is a school district near you that is laying off teachers, I encourage you to visit the legislation page and write a letter to the editor showing them just how much they could save under a single payer health care plan.
